4 temples in Brazil, El Salvador, Texas and Utah will have new presidents and matrons this year

They will begin their service in September or when the temples are dedicated

The following new temple presidents and matrons have been called to serve by the First Presidency. Leaders of the Lubbock Texas and San Salvador El Salvador temples will begin their service in September, and leaders of the Red Cliffs Utah and Brasília Brazil temples will begin when the temples are dedicated.

Thomas H. Ashdown and Barbara E. Ashdown

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Thomas Hill Ashdown and Barbara Elizabeth Peruch Ashdown, Heritage Ward, Lubbock Texas North Stake, called as president and matron of the Lubbock Texas Temple, succeeding President Victor O. Davis and Sister Cynthia Davis. President Ashdown is a temple sealer and a former temple presidency counselor, high councilor and bishop. A retired dentist, he was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Donald Ashdown and Theresa Marie Ashdown.

Sister Ashdown is a ward Young Women president and temple ordinance worker and a former assistant to the temple matron. She was born in Sacramento, California, to Samuel Joseph Peruch and Patricia Ann Van Buskirk.

J. Kevin Ence and Debbie Ence

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

John Kevin Ence and Debra Houston Ence, Magnolia Ward, St. George Utah Crimson Ridge West Stake, called as president and matron of the new Red Cliffs Utah Temple. President Ence is a ward mission leader and a former Area Seventy, Australia Brisbane Mission president, stake president, high councilor and bishop. A retired self-employed contractor and developer, he was born in St. George, Utah, to John Herman Ence and Janice Esplin Ence.

Sister Ence is a Relief Society teacher and a former mission president companion, stake Young Women presidency counselor, stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Primary president and temple ordinance worker. She was born in St. George, Utah, to Howard Clark Houston and Mary Grace Houston.

Raimundo Pacheco de Pinho and Beatriz de Oliveira Pradera Pinho, Vicente Pires Ward, Brasília Brazil Taguatinga Stake, called as president and matron of the new Brasília Brazil Temple. President Pinho is a service mission leader and a former Area Seventy, Brazil São Paulo Interlagos Mission president, stake presidency counselor, high councilor and bishop. A human resources manager, he was born in Brasília, Brazil, to José Pacheco de Pinho and Laurita Eunice Silveira de Pinho. 

Sister Pinho is a service mission leader and a former mission president companion, stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president and ward Young Women presidency counselor.  She was born in Brasília, Brazil, to Pedro Bahia and Thereza Guilhermina Pradera.

Emigdio Tiberio Santos Jimenez and Maria Olimpia Portillo Chavez de Santos, La Cima Ward, San Salvador El Salvador Los Heroes Stake, called as president and matron of the San Salvador El Salvador Temple, succeeding President Randy Harris and Sister Donna C. Harris. President Santos is a patriarch and temple sealer and a former stake presidency counselor, bishop and branch president, A retired business administrator, he was born in La Libertad, El Salvador, to Salvador Emigdio Santos Menjívar and María Esperanza Jiménez Pérez.

Sister Santos is a FamilySearch Church-service missionary, patriarch’s scribe and temple ordinance worker and a former ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women presidency counselor and ward Primary presidency counselor. She was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, to Manuel Alfredo Portillo and Juana Marta Chavez.
