Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ social posts this week included health updates, lessons learned from ministering around the world, and testifying of the uniting power of Jesus Christ’s restored Church.

Church President Russell M. Nelson posted a message of gratitude for the prayers that have been offered on his behalf and shared an update on his health.

“Thank you for your prayers for me during the last two months. My recovery from my fall in September when I injured the muscles in my back has been rigorous. I have needed your prayers.”

During the “Luz de las Naciones” event in the Conference Center, President Dallin H. Oaks, first counselor in the First Presidency, shared a message in both English and Spanish and posted a recording of part of his message on social media.

Sister Kristin M. Yee, second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency, commented on her devotional address at Brigham Young University a few weeks ago.

“I continue to witness that the Lord never misses an opportunity to love and bless His children, and that was clear at this devotional as He provided His tender and powerful Spirit in abundance,” she wrote.

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles posted about meeting in Washington, D.C., with ambassadors and diplomats from around the world.

“Regardless of if a visit involves a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles discussing issues with an ambassador or if it involves you sharing thoughts with your neighbor, you and I have the same charge: to be representatives of Jesus Christ and to identify ways to be Christlike in all of our interactions,” he wrote.

On a ministry visit to Mexico, Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles met with local government officials in Hidalgo.

“As I met with the governor of Hidalgo, Julio Menchaca, we discussed the influence of the Church of Jesus Christ in this area, and he expressed great interest in the purposes of the house of the Lord. I am excited for the growth of the Church in these great communities.”

Sister Tamara W. Runia, first counselor in the Young Women general presidency, and Sister Scharman Grimmer, of the Young Women general advisory council, talked in a video about the options available for holding Young Women camp.

Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles asked a question in advance of a worldwide devotional for young adults and invited members to answer the question on social media.

“What was a significant moment in your life when you received personal revelation that helped you better understand God’s path for you?”

Sister Amy A. Wright, first counselor in the Primary general presidency, posted a video of her with a young friend she met while in Fiji.

“Meet my new friend Inoke! He is only four years old and has memorized the fourth article of faith. Inoke is a wonderful example of the faith and capacity of our Heavenly Father’s youngest disciples.”

Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared an experience of being able to witness a person he taught while serving a mission in the 1960s in Argentina be sealed to her deceased parents.

“This is a scene taking place constantly all over the world in temples. This is the ultimate step in gathering the covenant people. It is the highest privilege of your membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I promise that as you faithfully seek that privilege, in time or eternity it will surely be yours.”

Speaking on a phrase from President Nelson’s most recent general conference talk, Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared this insight:

“Who could we trust more than President Nelson? Of course, he’s the Lord’s prophet — he’s the president of the Church — but even if he were not, what a life he has lived!”

Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles posted his thoughts on the uniting power of the restored Church of Jesus Christ.

“The Lord’s restored Church can be an incubator for a Zion community. As we worship, serve, enjoy, and learn His love together, we anchor each other in His gospel.”

Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared about the unity people can feel in the house of the Lord.

“Have you ever pondered on how the principle of respect for human dignity and equality is demonstrated through the simple way we dress in the House of the Lord? We all come to the temple united in one purpose and filled with the desire to be pure and holy in His holy presence.”
